I have received quite a few queries as to my non presence on the Fight Schools Network website, and in answer to, as well as formal statement of emancipation, I give you the following:
I Steven Leroy, Malanoski, Hanshi, 10th Dan and founder of the ShobuDo GoJu Jitsu Kai, have removed myself from the listing / association of the Fight Schools Network, previously known as U.S.A.G.A.

OOSSS….Brothers and Sisters:
I just wanted to share something with the group, whenever I start feeling old and run down, I think of my Sensei (Sekwii T. Sha) who has become more like an older brother or close family advisor to me over these many years, than just a Martial Arts Instructor. Sensei Sha’s wisdom transcends martial arts just talking to him gives you a sense of calm and well being, plus he is still in excellent physical condition and can get his point across very quickly when giving a demonstration. On another note, I spoke to another of Grand Master Sha’s life long students last week, Master Earl Woodbury, of whom I am extremely jealous, first because I am not much older than him, and second, he is still actively competing and winning!! Master Woodbury, keep up the good work, you do us all proud. Thank you also to the Web Master, Sensei Price for keeping this forum up and running.

Salutations to All,

Please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Raymond A. Fitzpatrick. I have been a Goju practitioner since 1970 and have been blessed to have trained with the Great Goju Sensei of NYC: E. Monroe, A. Gotay, F. Ruiz (deceased), C. Zulu and of course, P. Urban (deceased). Enough about me.

This is about the "Web Master." Below is a letter of support, I wrote regarding the recent developments pertaining to the Master's Forum. Agree or disagree, at your pleasure; but remember Sensei's virtues # 2 & 4 ( The Karate Dojo, page 27). Thank you for taking the time to consider an alternative.

Jim [the webmaster],

Sometimes, I think President, Woodrow Wilson had it right regarding "isolationism." This is why you rarely see me at public events. I have recently read a few of the letters you have received regarding the Master's Forum. I am disappointed in the "Network."

For your information, I am one half Puerto Rican. I say this because I have an understanding of my people. We can be egotistical, hot-heads.

You are doing your best with technical knowledge, personal time and financial input. I thank you for your efforts. Sensei loved to live "under the radar", but your efforts have attempted to connect the Goju "dots".

The last time I looked, a Model-T and a Mustang were both Fords, even though they were created in different eras. Sensei created all of us, right or wrong, it was his decision as Grand Patriarch. The System has evolved over four + decades; not everyone has to be a "knockout artist." We need all types of technicians in order to continue Sensei's dream of the Fight Schools Network. The key word is Network, according to my conversations with Sensei.

When the "Alpha Sensei" passes, this dissension usually occurs (i.e.: Kyokushin-Kai, Goju-Kai, Nisei Goju-Ryu and now Urban Gojudo).

You or anyone else doesn't need this from an "older brother." You have my support for what it is worth. Please keep me informed.
