and promoted to 10th Dan in April
2004 to be effective on his birthday so that he would never forget the day that
he was promoted.

Sensei Juan Perez a Cuban Gold Medalist in Guantanamo Bay Cuba
-1965 Studied Uechi Ryu under Sensei George Mattson Karate Academy
-1972 Studied Goju Kai in San Francisco under Sensei Gosei Yamaguchi
-1975 Studied American Dragon Horse Goju under Sensei David McConnell
-1993, began to study under Grand Master Peter Urban
Martial Arts Accomplishments to include:
-Triple Crown winner in 1982, AAU competition
-1982 N.E.A.A.U. Grand Champion in Kata and Weapons
-1982 Region ranked #1 by Karate Illustrated
-1985 Senior Men’s Kumite Grand Champion
-1985 New England N.E.A.A.U. Grand Champion in Kata and Kumite
-Elected to N.E.A.A.U. National Team 7 years in a row
-2000 Recipiant of the "E" Flag at the NYC Urban Cup Karate Championships
-2002 Recipiant of the "Urban Cup" at the NYC Karate

-2006 Inducted into the U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame as "Grandmaster " for the
year
