Sensei Jim Chambers started his marital arts training in
Aikido in the mid 1970’s. In 1980 he started training in USA Goju Karate.
Classes were held at the YMCA in Melbourne Florida where Sensei Bob Ostovich had
just started teaching.
Sensei Ostovich was a student of Master Joe Hess.
By 1984 he was helping teach classes and expanding his kobudo experience. In
1989 Sensei Chambers began teaching karate and kobudo with Sensei Tom Smyth
at the Palm Bay, Florida dojo. In 2000 Sensei Chambers relocated to the Tampa
Bay area where he started teaching private karate classes in his backyard,
“The Sunshine Dojo”. He now teaches at three dojo locations in Riverview,
Gibsonton and Wimauma, Florida.

Tournament in 2007,
Hanshi Keith Teller promoted Sensei Chambers to Renshi, 5th
Dan.
Hanshi Teller is Sensei Chambers sponsor for the Fight Schools Network.
He has
been assigned Urban Goju Hall No. 047-05.
