Hanshi Balfour Wright, 9th Dan
An
inductee of the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Grandmaster Balfour
Wright is a 9th degree black belt in the arts and sciences of
GoJu Ryu Karate and a twenty one year retired veteran of the United States Army.
He is a direct student of Grand Master Peter Urban, Ph.D., one of the first
pioneers of Karate in The United States.
His experience outside the Traditional Karate literacy includes training in many disciplines of martial arts. He is the founder and director of the Society of Harmonious Fists Federation, which includes several schools within the United States and Europe.
Grandmaster Wright resides in Texas with his wife and two children. He received his Bachelors of Science degree, with a major in Business Administration and a Master of Science Degree of Quality System Management. He works full time to enhance the progress of the martial arts.
Grandmaster Wright is also the executive director of the non-profit organization, Karate for Inner City Kids (K.I.C.K.), which is committed to providing mentoring through Karate and Scholastic tutoring to high-risk kids within his community?
Grandmaster Wright is a driving force within the martial arts community who works full time training and promoting the true philosophy of KARATE, which is the perfection of the character of its participants.
